Quilter's Review Sampler
November 10, 2003
Piecing It All Together
Moments after sending you the last issue of Quilter's Review I jumped on a plane for Houston to spend three days at the International Quilt Festival. It was fabulous!
Quilts flooded my visual sense with original designs in beautiful fabric. Many, like Libby Lehman's Leaves in Living Color, were covered with fantastic threadwork approaching the unbelievable.
When the quilts started getting mixed up in my mind, I would go to visit vendors. There were over 600 vendors, with every quilting product imaginable. I enjoyed meeting many of the makers of products I've reviewed, and arranged to review many exciting new products in the months to come.
I didn't attend any classes, but I did go to the Bernina fashion show of unusual and creative clothing made by fiber artists. It was really fun and eye-opening.
Maybe next year in Houston we could have Quilter's Review readers wear something distinctive so we could meet face to face. What fun!
Now, back to business. This week in Quilter's Review you'll find my review of the WaveEdge Ruler, and Sophie Littlefield reviews two new books: Dresden Fan and Quiltscapes.
I'll be back in your inbox on November 24th.
'Til then, quilt up a storm!
