Quilter's Review Sampler
#213 - November 7, 2005
Piecing It All Together
Almost all the bright foliage has fallen leaving only the rust color of the oaks and the yellow beech leaves with a backdrop of gray tree trunks and evergreens. I like these more subtle colors of November almost as much as the brilliant colors of last month. Maybe it's because the clear blue sky peaking through the branches changes the pallet to something more restful preparing me for winter. Maybe it's all the sunshine that fills the forest around my house. Whatever it is, I'm feeling the urge to begin some new quilting projects to carry me through 'til spring.
In this issue, I review A Quilters' Gathering quilt show as the quilt show season in New England winds down for the year. I, also, tell you about a product that gives me an unlimited supply of a fabric without having to worry about it being discontinued.
Sophie's reviews are sure to make you want to start a new Log Cabin quilt or an appliqué project to take along with your or to do snuggling by the fire.
I put in two tips from the same reader so you could consolidate your shopping trips to get everything at once.
We'll be back in your email box before Thanksgiving when I will review a Bernina 440QE. I'm sure you saw the Bernina banners during the month of October telling about their BSR technology, the stitch regulator. You will be able to read about my experiences with this machine and the BSR in enough time to add this to your Christmas List. Until then, happy quilting.

P.S. Need to make an easy, charming gift? My Charming Houses wall quilt pattern is a great way to assemble a quaint village scene using fusible web applique and 6" charms from your stash. You'll love the look -- see it here -- and making it couldn't be more fun!
